Why This Matters
More and more high school graduates across Colombia and Latin America are stepping into adulthood feeling unprepared, uncertain, and overwhelmed by the question of what comes next. After years of being pushed straight into college, a career, or some predefined path, many students discover they lack clarity, maturity in decision making, and confidence in the direction to take. Rather than rushing into costly or ill fitting choices, they need a dedicated time to slow down and intentionally focus on their relationship with God.
What We're Doing About It
Over four months, high school graduates and older students are discipled and challenged to follow Jesus in complete obedience. The first three months immerse students in intensive teaching on missions, prayer, and worship, led by instructors from around the world. The final month is a missions trip where students put what they've learned into practice, serving communities and sharing the gospel in meaningful, creative ways.
Who's Leading
Hugo Mario and Juliana have led the school since its inception. They live on campus with the students, pouring into their lives and working to present these young believers as mature in Christ. They serve alongside Scott Hudgins, MANNA's Director of Leadership Development and Director for South America. Scott and Hugo have served together since 2007.
What Makes This Different
The school is distinctly local church focused. Every student is sent by their home church with the recommendation of their pastor. Throughout the program, staff maintain regular communication with those pastors and provide a thorough evaluation of each student before graduation, so every graduate returns home equipped to serve as a healthy, faithful member of their local church.
The Impact So Far
Since 2016, more than 150 students have graduated from the program. Many now excel as professionals in their chosen fields, others serve faithfully in full time ministry as pastors and Christian workers, and some are preparing to carry the gospel to the nations as missionaries. All are aiming to be integral, gospel centered members of their local churches.
