Around the world, there are over two billion kids.
Well actually, in 2023 there were

to be exact! have you ever seen a number that big?!
Some of those kids probably like the same things you do, maybe they have siblings like you, or love math, or art, or playing soccer. Maybe they love animals, or enjoy reading, or like playing with friends. Do you like any of those things? What things do you like? I bet out of two billion kids, there’s another kid who likes that too!
Depending on where you were born, life can look a lot different for kids around the world, even if they like the same things.
For every group of 10 kids, there is 1 whose home tries to survive on less than $3 every day. The average home has 4 people in it.

$3 isn’t a lot. And most times, it means going without food, safe water, going to the doctor when you’re sick, or needing to skip school so you can try to earn money for your family working (even as a kid!)
So, what do you think happens when your tummy is grumbling from being hungry, you have a sick sibling from drinking water that has bad germs in it, or you miss school to go work a hard job… and you’re also a kid? A kid who loves math, and soccer, and animals, and reading, and art, and friends.
Sadly, you don’t get to do many things you like.
