Finally we are up and running in South Africa!
I forgot just how slowly things move here
in good old Ladysmith. We have several great
things to report to you this month.
We finally broke ground on our new Training
Center. We will send pictures next month.
Our Bible College is open with over 30 students
this year.
Two of our churches are growing again seeing
over 100 in their Sunday services.
We now have three feeding centers. These
centers are located in our different churches
through Northern Natal here in South Africa.
Folks, we are now seeing starving children
in our rural ministries. Andiswa is the
little girl sitting on Kathy's lap. She
is almost six and weighs around 20 pounds.
She is in the later stages of starvation,
and does not eat the food we give to her.
We are seeking medical help for her, but
even this a pathetic jesture here in South
Africa as hospital staff are so indifferent.
Please pray for us. We really need it. God
bless and thanks for your individual prayers
and support towards this ministry. It's
not going to waste.

To all concerned,
Don and I here in Ladysmith, South Africa,
have been accumulating funds from MANNA
for quite some time now. Finally we can
say that we are now able to open TWO feeding
centers. Africa can be slow sometimes but
we believe that this is truly God's timing.
In the Ladysmith church we have a worker
that has a desire to be involved in our
Ladysmith/Mkhamba Garden area. She has been
attending our church faithfully for the
past four years. We really felt that we
needed the worker, for the feeding center,
to come from our church and God gave us
the answer. She is Sandra Israel. She is
from Indian nationality but sees the need
for the Zulu children to be fed. Also she
could use the income that MANNA provides.
She is grateful and happy to do the cooking
for the feeding center.
We also have another couple in our church
that sells food parcels to schools. We will
be purchasing the food from them that goes
into our feeding centers. So it ends up
being a double blessing to Christians in
our area.
Our Ladysmith MANNA feeding center is to
open Febrauary 2nd. We will feed the children
in our church area from 3:00 PM to 4 PM.
During this time we will be using some of
our young men to teach a story or devotion
to the children. Our second feeding center
will be opening around the same time at
our St. Chad's church. The need there is
far greater and we have found people in
the church that have the heart for such
a thing but just didn't have the funds needed
to open a feeding center.
As far as the numbers? We are looking for
around 50 children per area. We are only
beginning now and so they will both be small
in number for February. But as the forms
and applications come in I am confident
the numbers will increase.
